From using Minecraft in the classroom to incorporating robotics in the curriculum, the 2017 IT Summit demonstrated how innovative technologies are changing Saskatchewan’s educational landscape.
Held in Saskatoon, SK, the Summit aimed to explore new teaching practices and promoted the use of technology and network infrastructure among Saskatchewan educators. The Summit featured keynote speaker, Dr. Gina Cherkowski, who demonstrated the importance of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) as it relates to our technology-rich society. Additionally, the Summit featured a wide range of speakers, who each hosted individual sessions on ways to better Saskatchewan’s education system.
Among those speakers was SRNET President and CEO, Neil McClughan. Neil’s presentation demonstrated SRNET’s role within Saskatchewan and how SRNET continues to be an important part of Saskatchewan’s digital environment. SRNET saw an immense amount of support from stakeholders at the Summit and looks to continue to bring value to educators, researchers and innovators, alike.
The Summit highlighted how innovative technologies are crucial in our technology-driven world. The Summit brought together Saskatchewan’s educators in a collaborative learning environment and highlighted the numerous successes across the province.
